Deanna initially established roots in Bellingham when family relocated from the East Coast. She graduated with a BFA from Pratt Institute in New York City with an emphasis on design and multi-media sculpture, and then went on to study cultural anthropology and museum studies at New Mexico State University. There she also researched Laguna Pueblo weaving and produced an instructional documentary for the retention of the weaving traditions at the Pueblo. After earning her MA, she pursued a career in museum collections’ preservation and exhibitions logistics caring for objects international in scope.  

She has worked with the Smithsonian Institution at Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum and the National Museum of the American Indian. As a museum administrator preserving art and ethnographic collections, Deanna has cultivated professional relationships with art institutions in Washington, California, Oregon, New York, Arizona and New Mexico, she has also volunteered with the Sharjah Art Museum in the United Arab Emirates and continues to engage museums internationally out of a passion for the arts and a natural curiosity about the process for creating global exhibitions.

Lisa is a freelance writer who resides in the United States. She holds a Bachelor's degree in History and a Master's degree in Asian Studies. Described as a person with eclectic taste, her interests include calligraffiti, contemporary Indian literature, Khmer sculpture and Mughal miniature paintings. Areas of specialisation include Asian and Middle Eastern artists who boldly and unapologetically break new ground with subject matter or techniques. She is an enthusiastic supporter to those who may be marginalized or do not have a voice. She is also interested in connecting cultures and peoples through artwork that speaks to the human condition.
